We are delighted to invite you to the second Auckland Analytics Forum event of 2016, focusing on organisations that have been through a data-driven transformation.

Our speakers, from the BNZ, Vector and Mercy Ascot Hospitals have all driven, and are still driving their organisations towards using data to make better decisions. They’ll talk about the pitfalls they’ve overcome on the way and the successes they’ve achieved.

The event will take place in the Decima Glenn Room at the University of Auckland on Monday the 27 of June 2016.  Talks will begin at 3pm. Following our speakers, there will be time for social drinks, kindly sponsored by Qlik and Acumen BI.

As always, the event is free of charge, but places are limited.  Please register your attendance below.

The Owen G Glenn Building has five levels of car parking (over 1,000 spaces). Access to the car park is via Grafton Road. See here.

Our Speakers

Dan Garguilo, Qlik Practice Lead Acumen BI

Daniel heads up Acumen’s Business Intelligence Practice and leads a team of dedicated Sales Consultants, Business Analysts and Developers. With over 10 years’ experience as an analyst, Daniels real world client side experience ensures Acumen Bi can relate to the challenges your business is facing. Daniels professional career has focused on using data to enable organisations drive change through evidence based decision making. Throughout this there has also been a strong focus on utilising software systems to automate manual tasks.

Rendy Sugiarto, Online Insights &  Analytics Manager BNZ Digital

Over nearly 5 years at BNZ, Rendy has lead the bank’s online presence from a point where there was very little information about how the website and Internet Banking were being used at all to a point where end-to-end tracking and democratisation of analytics are standard practice and machine learning models are ready to make real-time decisions about customer needs.

Rendy will discuss the challenges of getting hold of data and getting buy in from the executive, with a lot of insight on how to do that successfully, and give an overview of where his work is at, and where it might head next.

Duncan Head, Head of Strategic Analysis Vector

The energy industry is currently undergoing a period of rapid customer-led change and disruption.  New technology is not only offering consumers greater choice, it is also completely reshaping industry paradigms and business models that have existed for a 100 years. Data and analytics are now central to energy businesses that are retooling to support the new customer-led future and to transition existing infrastructure to support things like self-generation, electric vehicles and advanced home energy management systems.
As Head of Strategic Analysis, Duncan is leading the team that is providing the data and analytics for Vector’s network business to help ‘create a new energy future’.

Dr Lloyd McCann, Director of Medical Services and Chief Operating Officer, Mercy Ascot / Mercy Radiology

Lloyd will speak about Data driven decision making in health, in particular Mercy Ascot’s transformation (the story so far…)

Lloyd Has been with Mercy Ascot for three years since returning from the UK and in the dual role with Mercy Ascot and Mercy Radiology for the past year. Lloyd is also currently an advisor for NZ Trade and Enterprise.
Lloyd completed a mixed clinical and managerial fellowship in Emergency Medicine and led the performance improvement team for the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust in the UK, before becoming the Medical Director for Harris Corporation, a $6 billion US headquartered multinational information and communications systems provider.
